On the 1881 census, Edward, a 66-year-old farmer's carter, his wife SARAH (56) and two of their sons, ALFRED (15) and
JAMES (12) are at 4 East Cliff Cott Crown Pt, in Hastings (All Saints), Sussex.

and a lodger GEORGE ELDERIGE (unmarried, 40, farm labourer, born Battle Sussex) are all at
Mores Farm in Crowhurst, Sussex. On the 1891 census, William (head, 50, born Sussex) is in Crowhurst, Sussex,

was born circa 1849 in Hastings, Sussex (source : 1881 census). On the 1871 census, Thomas, a 21-year-old labourer,
was with his parents and family at 10 Old Lane, Bexhill, Sussex.
On the 1881 census, Thomas is unmarried, 32,
a labourer for Lydd Rail and a lodger at the Fleur De Lis Inn in Brenzett, Kent
(where many Lydd Rail workers were staying). Could this be the same person as EDWIN (EDWIN THOMAS or THOMAS EDWIN???)
below or were they twins born just before Mary's death???
EDWIN OFFEN was baptised, to parents EDWARD OFFEN and MARY ANN,
on 27th May 1849 in All Saints, Hastings, Sussex (source : BVRI 2nd edition). He died, aged 3 weeks,
presumably due to the death of his mother, and was buried on 2nd June 1849,
